why?

and more importantly, why?

Awkward Stock Photos is a blog dedicated to bizarre stock imagery that actually exists. If you've ever worked as a designer, photo stylist or photog these will be especially entertaining (fucking hilarious.)

My personal favorite is this poor balloon cat. I'd like to know how they shot this one...no actually, I think I'd rather not.

go blog, it's your birthday.

...open wide, I know you're thirsty, say ahhhh ahhha hahhh ahahahahaha (danielle knows the rest.)

happy birthday to...me! not me, exactly, but to super.fine. she/he/it is exactly one year old — a week ago. Sorry I missed your big day, super.fine, but I'll be sure to celebrate on *your behalf allllll weeeekend long.

*how sad that I'm talking to my blog like it's a person...

tomorrow

"Finish each day and be done with it. You have done what you could. Some blunders and absurdities no doubt crept in; forget them as soon as you can. Tomorrow is a new day; begin it well and serenely and with too high a spirit to be cumbered with your old nonsense. — Ralph Waldo Emerson

pretty shiny things

This morning the latest Chanel couture collection debuted as part of Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week. Costumes from Sofia Coppola's Marie Antoinette came to mind as Lagerfeld's stream of muted sorbets radiated through plenty of shimmering metallics down the catwalk. Chanel is over black, and I'm sure the fashion world will soon follow suit — shiny, silver suit.

Speaking of Ms. Coppola, I've always wanted to try these little babies...I predict a Sofia-themed movie/wine night soon (hear that Ambika?)

P.S. look who showed up to the Chanel show!

K looking dapper in a velvet blazer with his "just got a model chick" Amber Rose. Not exactly sure what's going on with her arm, head and face, but whatever — good for him.

missoni: amore mio

loving the sofa, pillows, sweaters and that fellow on the left...

click here to find out more about Missoni's spring ad campaign (featuring the always impeccably-styled Margherita, whose wardrobe I'd happily hijack...sans the physical violence, of course)

still on fire

LIL WAYNE "ON FIRE"

I see Weezy's beloved sizzurp has been upgraded from styrofoam cup to crystal chalice. (Oh, you thought that was red wine? Guess again.) Good for you, Wayne, worrying about the environment like that!

we were once a fairytale

Kanye's singing ability and moral composition may constantly be in question, but his creativity should not be overlooked. Ye and Spike Jonze recently partnered to create a short video (although not a music video, it does feature the song "See You In My Nightmares") that will surely bring a little more wtf to your day. Make sure to watch all the way through to see Kanye vomit up rose petals and rip an adorable critter out of his severed chest (or fast forward if it's too painful. I understand.)

ps: I still think he has a great smile. sigh.

launch the babies!

The new Earth's Best Organic Baby Food website and Official Facebook Fan Page launched today! I've been designing buttons, links and organizing baby videos for the new sites, so check them out! (and become a fan on FB.)

fur sure

This Frette queen-sized fur throw is quite possibly the most luxurious blanket imaginable. It's made of mink hair dipped in 18-karat gold and backed with quilted silk cashmere, priced accordingly at a wtf-worthy $28,000. (wtf) If the price tag didn't already scare you away, you'll still need some sort of celestial power to put one on your bed as there are only TWO being made for the U.S.

A comparable blanket by Pottery Barn is both mass-produced (no pesky waiting list!) and much more affordable at only $99. While not nearly as luxurious as gold-dipped mink
(but really, what is?) this blanket will satiate anyone's appetite for sumptuous softness and rich texture without breaking the bank...or the need to, quite literally, break into a bank.
